Program Officer (Child Health and Nutrition) at Nutrition International

Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular updated information regarding any change in the landscape (policy, partner involvement, service delivery, morbidity, access to care etc.) of the child health and nutrition interventions that might impact NI programs in Tanzania.
  • Contribute to the design and development of programs plans and objectives to be initiated by NI Tanzania in collaboration with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Prepare annual implementation and spending plans for NI VAS intervention in Tanzania according to NI guidelines.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of NI funded programs eZUTAlx DmwvJp
  • Ensure that work plan activities are implemented as scheduled and per the approved budgets and ensure that remedial actions are taken to ensure that the projects are on track.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date program documentation, records and reports.
  • Enter all approved financial commitments for VAS projects into the NI Contract Databases and update them regularly in accordance with NI contract management procedures
  • Input into the NI Contract Databases for the VAS projects all approved financial commitments and regularly update them in line with NI contract management procedures.
  • Prepare documentation for meetings and conference calls, taking detailed notes on decisions and action points from such meetings and ensuring follow up of same.
  • Build and maintain good collaborative relations with government agencies, UN agencies, and NGOs to promote information sharing and effective coordination of effort to improve and sustain effective and efficient VAS programming in Tanzania.
  • Participate in national and regional forums relevant to child health and survival as necessary.

About You;

You have;

  • At least Master’s degree from a recognized university in one or more of the following areas: child health, nutrition, nursing, health sciences and public health.
  • Training in epidemiology, community health and research methodologies desirable.
  • At least 3 years work experience in child health, and public health, nutrition and/or related field in Tanzania or elsewhere
  • Experience in program/project implementation/supervision, monitoring and evaluationAbility to plan and organize work to meet deadlines
  • Ability to accommodate to new situations within the organization (flexibility)Ability to work under pressureStrong numerical skills & attention to detail.
